Hey! I’m Alli Doubek and I am so glad that you’re here.
I am a happily married mother of two – a proud Chicagoan who has worked as a sample girl at various grocery stores (“Would you like to try some guacamole?”), has a Bachelor’s in Psychology, worked for three years as a server and then a bartender at Red Lobster, worked with the chronically mentally ill for years, performed in a traveling improv group, worked as a standardized patient (I know you’ve seen that Seinfeld episode!), got an MBA, worked as a secret shopper, ran Couponing For 4 for seven and a half years and now finds herself here, with you. And I couldn’t be happier.
What is with Dancing Through The Rain?
Dancing Through The Rain is the state in which I choose to live. It is the place where hopefully everyone can find their peace and their drive. It is a statement and an encouragement to keep moving, keep living, and keep being joyful. When you can choose not to stand in the rain and just get wet, you start to appreciate what the world has to offer. That you can find happiness in the little things. That – even in the darkest of moments – you know that eventually you will find the light and the hope.
So, why should I be Dancing In The Rain?
Happiness is a choice and it is there for you to choose! I am not saying that it is an easy choice or one that may naturally be available, but it is something that you can strive towards. And my goal is to help you get there.
And what’s with all the Empowerment talk?
The best way to feel empowered is from the inside out. It is hugely beneficial to have a support system and loved ones around you, but the person you talk to most everyday is you. You need to be driving yourself in the right direction. You need to have an internal dialogue that helps you stay motivated and confident. You need to be the one choosing to live your life and not just exist. After all, you are in control of your own destiny.
