Thanksgiving Deviled Eggs Recipe
How To Make:
Ingredients:
6 hard-boiled eggs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp sweet relish
1 tsp sugar
Seasoning salt (to taste)
1/4 tsp yellow mustard
1 red bell pepper
1 orange bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
24 peppercorns
Directions:
Hard-boil your eggs in your preferred method, in hot water or an instant pot. Run them under cold water or allow them to cool in the refrigerator.
Remove the white shells, wash the eggs in cool water, and dry them off with a paper towel.
Take your hard-boiled eggs and cut them in half. (You’ll now have 12 white halves.) Scoop out the egg yolks and put them in a medium-sized bowl. Add your mayo, pickle relish, sugar, seasoning salt (start with a shake and adjust to taste), and mustard.
Mix well and then spoon the mixture into each hard-boiled egg white (as evenly as possible).
If you struggle with egg filling, put the egg mixture into a piping bag or Ziploc bag. Cut a large tip off the bottom corner with a pair of scissors to allow for the small pieces of relish to get through, and fill each of the egg whites. Discard the plastic bag when you’re done.
On a cutting board, take your bell peppers and cut them in half. Clean out the seeds and cut them into long, thin strips.
Cut each of those long strips in half. Continue until you have 12 small slices from each colored pepper.
Cut an additional 12 small triangles out of the orange bell pepper and 12 small little rectangular slivers out of the red bell pepper. These will be your beak and wattle.
Now you are ready to assemble the turkey! Place one strip from each of the different colored bell peppers towards the top of the egg.
I like to add them in rainbow color, so red bell peppers on the left, orange bell peppers in the middle, and yellow bell peppers on the right.
Add your nose and wattle to the bottom, as shown in the photo. Finally, add 2 peppercorns in the middle for the eyes. Now they’re all ready to gobble up!
*Note – you may want to let your guests know that the peppercorns in this egg recipe are for decoration. Guests may or may not want to eat them depending on personal preference.
Store any leftovers on a plate under plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
