How To Make Thanksgiving Deviled Eggs Recipe
Thanksgiving Deviled Eggs Ingredients:
6 hard-boiled eggs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet relish
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 red bell pepper
1 orange bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
Seasoning salt (to taste)
Step 1: Hard-boil your eggs in your preferred method (or follow the instructions below), in hot water or an instant pot. Run them under cold water or allow them to cool in the refrigerator.
Step 2: Remove the white shells, wash the eggs in cool water, and dry them off with a paper towel.
Step 3: Take your hard-boiled eggs and cut them in half. (You’ll now have 12 white halves.)
Step 4: Scoop out the egg yolks and put them in a medium-sized bowl. Add your mayo, pickle relish, sugar, seasoning salt (start with a shake and adjust to taste), and mustard.
Step 5: Mix well and then spoon the mixture into each hard-boiled egg white (as evenly as possible).
*Note – If you struggle with the egg filling, put the egg mixture into a piping bag or Ziploc bag.
Cut a large tip off the bottom corner with a pair of scissors to allow for the small pieces of relish to get through, and fill each of the egg whites. Discard the plastic bag when you’re done.
Step 6: On a cutting board, take your bell peppers and cut them in half. Clean out the seeds and cut them into long, thin strips.
Step 7: Cut each of those long strips in half. Continue until you have 12 small slices from each colored pepper.
Step 8: Cut an additional 12 small triangles out of the orange bell pepper and 12 small little rectangular slivers out of the red bell pepper. These will be your beak and wattle.
How To Assemble Turkey Deviled Eggs
Step 1: Place one strip from each of the different colored bell peppers towards the top of the eggs in a single layer.
I like to add them in rainbow color, so red bell peppers on the left, orange bell peppers in the middle, and yellow bell peppers on the right.
Step 2: Add your nose and wattle to the bottom of the egg halves, as shown in the photo.
Step 3: Add 2 peppercorns in the middle for the eyes. Now they’re all ready to gobble up!
How To Store Leftover Thanksgiving Deviled Eggs
Store any leftovers on the serving plate under plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
How To Hard-Boil Eggs
My favorite method for hard-boiling eggs is in a large saucepan on the stove.
Fill a large pot with heavily-salted water – enough water to cover the eggs. Add the large eggs to the cold water and put the pot on the stove over high heat. Heat it to a rolling boil.
Reduce the heat to medium and set a timer for 16 minutes. Once the timer has gone off, pour out the hot water and run cold water over the eggs for about 5 minutes or set them in an ice bath.
Place them in a bowl in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.
