Philly Cheese Steak
Sometimes when you are hungry, you want something beefy and cheesy and delicious. That is where a Philly Cheesesteak can come in! Full of green peppers and onions, it is flavorful, delicious and sure to fill you up.
The key to a good cheesesteak is making sure that the steak is very thinly sliced. I highly recommend asking the butcher to do this for you before purchasing the meat. You can absolutely do it at home, but your butcher is a pro, so why not take advantage of their skills?
There are lots of restaurants that sell cheesesteaks, but they do add up to a lot of money in the long run. If you can learn to make them at home (with a stellar recipe like this one!), save money and fill that craving whenever it hits!
Ingredients: 1 lb ribeye steak, very thinly sliced (ask the butcher to do this for you) 1 medium onion 1 green pepper 8 slices provolone cheese 4 hoagie sub rolls 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil Salt & pepper (to taste)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and pull out a baking sheet.
In a skillet over medium heat, add your ribeye steak slices and season with salt & pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes or until they are no longer pink. Place the cooked meat in a bowl and set it aside.
Take out a cutting board and slice the onion and green pepper very thin. Add the slices to your skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sautรฉ for about 5 minutes. Set them aside.
On a plate or cutting board, pull out your hoagie rolls. Place 1/4 of your meat in each of the rolls. Add onions and green peppers to each one.
Top the peppers with two slices of provolone cheese per sandwich.
Fold together each hoagie and wrap them tightly in aluminum foil.
Place all four wrapped hoagies on a baking sheet and put it in the oven to bake for 10-15 minutes.
A good Philly Cheese Steak can absolutely hit the spot when you want something beefy and cheesy. A recipe that everyone can make at home, let this cheesesteak recipe tempt your taste buds!
