Grilled Corn on the Cob
Time to break out the grill! Now that (most of) the cold weather has passed, it’s time to be out in the fresh air again. When I think of fresh air, I think of hours in the backyard, more fresh produce and grilling!
This grilled corn on the cob recipe has a sweet and spicy sauce – a classic combination. It is absolutely delicious and a fantastic compliment to any meat or main dish that you may be serving.
There are chili flakes in this recipe, so there is actual spiciness. The sweetness of the corn itself will cut a bit of the spice, so if you are serving people who are sensitive to spice, try lightly basting their corn instead of omitting the butter mixture altogether.
Naturally vegetarian and gluten-free, this side dish can be made anytime you have a grill handy. Keep the ingredients for the butter mixture on-hand (you may actually have them in your cabinets already!) and make this sweet and spicy corn whenever you pick up a few fresh corn on the cob!

Grilled Corn
Ingredients:
4 corn on the cob, cleaned and stripped
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup real maple syrup
2 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp dried chili flakes
In a small bowl, combine the butter, maple syrup, ginger, chili flakes and garlic. Stir until everything is well mixed.
Take out the corn and make sure that it is cleaned and stripped of all of the silky fibers. Dip the corn in fresh water and set it on the grill.
Grill the corn for approximately 3 – 4 minutes per side. Once each side has been grilled, begin to baste the corn with the butter mixture.
Continue to turn and baste the corn until all of the sides are grilled.
If there’s any butter mixture left over once you’ve basted all four ears of corn, microwave it until it has melted and pour it over all of the ears of corn. Serve hot and enjoy!
