This Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo Tortellini is a crockpot recipe that the whole family will love! Cheesy and filling with simple ingredients!
Crockpot Chicken Alfredo
Some of my favorite chicken recipes are those that you can begin cooking earlier in the day, throw into the crockpot, come home to finish up, and serve for dinner. That’s exactly what you can do with this Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo Tortellini!
A hearty dinner with tortellini pasta, tender chicken, and your own alfredo sauce, this is one of those slow cooker chicken recipes that anyone can make. Even better, the kids love it!
The perfect comfort food for busy moms and families alike, you’re going to love the rich, creamy texture of this easy weeknight meal. Plus, who doesn’t love that layer of deliciously gooey cheese on top?
One of the things that makes this recipe so easy is that you won’t be slowly developing a flavorful homemade alfredo sauce. Many recipes include that, but on busy days, most of us just don’t have the time. So instead of working with heavy cream and cream cheese, you can use your favorite jarred alfredo sauce.
There are two steps to this dinner dish, so be sure to allow yourself an extra 45 minutes to add the additional ingredients before you plan to serve. Once the time has passed, you’re ready to eat!
Add this easy chicken alfredo to your meal plan rotation of slow cooker recipes because it is one that the entire family will love. Serve it with a side of garlic bread and you’ll find that everyone is a huge fan from the very first bite!
Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo Recipe
How To Make:
Ingredients:
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/3 cup chicken broth
1 jar alfredo sauce (about 15 oz)
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
2 cups cheese tortellini (generous cups!)
salt and pepper as desired
Parsley garnish (optional)
Directions:
Take out a cutting board and knife. Pull out your raw chicken breasts (making sure that they are at refrigerator temperature – not frozen!) and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Using a 4- or 4.5-inch slow cooker, spray the bowl with non-stick cooking spray.
Add your small cubes of chicken pieces in a single later to the inside of the slow cooker. Pour in your broth. Add a little kosher salt and black pepper to taste and stir a bit.
Cook on low for 4 – 5 hours or on high for 2 – 3 hours.
About ten minutes before your crockpot timer finishes up, cook the tortellini. Make sure that you do not cook the pasta for the full amount of time recommended on the container. You’ll want to slightly undercook the pasta so that it finishes cooking in the slow cooker, so not even al dente.
For example, if the instructions say to cook the tortellini for 8 minutes, you’ll want to cook them for 5 or 6.
Place your pasta in a colander and shake off any excess water.
Once the pasta is ready and the slow cooker has reached 4-5 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high, add the alfredo jar sauce and pasta to the chicken.
Top your chicken and creamy sauce with parmesan cheese.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for approximately 30 – 45 minutes. During these additional minutes of cooking, you’ll be combining flavors, letting the pasta finish cooking, and allowing the cheese to melt.
Serve your chicken tortellini alfredo and enjoy! If your family enjoys a little kick, offer some red chili flakes on the table.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, allow the crock pot chicken alfredo to cool to room temperature before putting it in the fridge.
What Vegetables Can I Put In This Easy Crockpot Chicken Alfredo Recipe?
There are some great side dish dishes listed below, but if you want to include something to stir into this delicious recipe, I would choose broccoli florets. Cook them separately and season them with some salt and pepper. Then stir the steamed broccoli into your creamy alfredo sauce when you add the pasta and other ingredients.
