Recipe Notes:
- If you can’t find a Valentine’s Day sprinkles mixture, opt for tiny red hearts or tiny pink hearts to compliment the pink color of squiggles.
- To distribute these as a gift, place them in individual cellophane bags and attach personalized messages for fun.
How To Make Valentine Fortune Cookies
Valentine’s Day Fortune Cookies Ingredients:
12 pk La Choy fortune cookies
12 oz bag bright white Wilton candy melts
12 oz bag bright pink Wilton candy melts
Wilton micro heart sprinkles
Supplies Needed:
Baking sheet, wax paper, or parchment paper
Microwave-safe small bowl
Microwave-safe medium bowl
Pastry bag or resealable bag
Directions:
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is create a flat work surface. Place a piece of parchment paper on your counter or a cookie sheet. Unwrap your fortune cookies and throw the wrappers away.
Step 2: Place about 1 1/2 cups of your white candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and heat on 50% power for 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Step 3: Dip half of each cookie into the melted white chocolate, and place them onto your parchment paper.
Step 4: Place about 1/4 cup of your pink candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and heat on 50% power for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Pour the melted pink candy from the small bowl into a decorating bag and tie it off.
If you don’t have a decorating bag handy, you can use a resealable bag and twist it so that the melted candy is all the way in one corner. This is a great way to create a small piping bag.
Step 5: Cut a tiny tip off the end of your decorating bag and drizzle the pink over the white chocolate sections of each cookie.
Step 6: Quickly top off each cookie with your heart sprinkles while your pink chocolate is still soft.
Step 7: Let your fortune cookies set on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes until your chocolate has hardened and serve when ready. Enjoy!
What If I Can’t Find Pink Or White Candy Melts?
You should be able to find candy melts in different colors at your local Target, Walmart, or on Amazon, but if you don’t have access to them, be creative.
If you can find red and pink candy melts, use one as the base and the other for the design – or try adding some food coloring. If you try to keep within the Valentine’s Day colors theme, they’ll turn out great.
Is It Bad Luck To Open Two Fortune Cookies?
They say that you should choose your own fortune cookie for the best luck (not have one handed to you), but you can have more than one fortune cookie. Especially these Valentine’s Day decorated ones!
Knowing a little more about your fortune cookie future won’t hurt you and having two message strips may tell you more about what’s to come!
