Candy Corn Krispies Treats Recipe
How To Make:
Ingredients:
4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
10 oz bag mini marshmallows
3 Tbsp butter, softened
1 bag orange candy melts
1 bag yellow candy melts
Orange sugar sprinkles
Directions:
Pull out a 9×9 baking dish and grease it with butter or nonstick cooking spray. I find it easiest to use a glass or ceramic cake pan for Rice Krispies treats because of the rounded bottom, but you should be fine to use any baking pan that you have.
In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat your marshmallows and butter for 1-2 minutes (in 30 second intervals) until the marshmallows start to grow. Remove your bowl from the microwave and stir them together.
If you’d prefer not to use the microwave method, melt your marshmallows and butter over low heat on the stove in a large saucepan, stirring with a greased spatula or wooden spoon.
Once your marshmallows are ready, mix your crispy rice cereal into the large bowl with your melted marshmallows and butter mixture, and stir well to incorporate.
Press your marshmallow mixture evenly into the bottom of your greased pan and set it in the fridge for a few hours to harden.
Cut your pan of crispy treats into triangles (cut down the center, then cut each section in a zigzag pattern). You can make a bunch of smaller triangles or eight larger triangles.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt one cup of yellow candy melts. Place the bowl in the microwave for 3-4 minutes on 50 percent power, stirring every 30 seconds until they are melted.
While holding the top point of each triangle in your hand, dip 3/4 of your Rice Krispies triangles into your melted yellow chocolate. After dipping, set each triangle on a piece of parchment paper or wax paper to harden.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt one cup of orange candy melts. Place the bowl in the microwave for 3-4 minutes on 50 percent power, stirring every 30 seconds until they are melted.
Making sure that the yellow layer has hardened, hold the point of each triangle again and dip the bottom 1/4 into the melted orange chocolate. You will be covering some of the yellow with the orange.
Top the orange layer (while still wet) with orange sprinkles.
Set your Candy Corn Krispie Treats triangles in the fridge for about 15 minutes and enjoy! Serve them on a plate surrounded by regular candy corn candies for fun.
These can be at room temperature on your dessert table, so they’re excellent candy corn treats for your party! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator or on the counter for up to 2 days.
Can I Use Different Kinds Of Chocolate For This Halloween Rice Krispie Treats Recipe?
You can. I highly suggest using candy melts for these fun treats because they dry very smoothly and have a great texture. That said, if you don’t have access to candy melts at your grocery stores or online, you could use white chocolate chips and different colors of food coloring. If you have a little bit of orange coloring and yellow coloring (the krispie treats are your white layer), you can melt the chocolate chips, add your colors, and follow the instructions above.
