How To Make Mummy Brownies

Mummy Brownies Ingredients:

1 box milk chocolate brownie mix (usually calls for vegetable oil, eggs, and water)
1 tub vanilla frosting
Large edible candy eyes

Supplies Needed:

9×13″ baking dish
Large mixing bowl
Spatula
Piping bag or sandwich bag

4-5″ circle cookie cutter

Ingredients for Mummy Brownies: Betty Crocker brownie mix, Betty Crocker white icing, a white bowl of candy eyes, and a red circle cookie cutter

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and grease the foil with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Brownie mix being stirred in a measuring cup with a yellow spatula in the middle of a white bowl with candy eyes, a red cookie cutter, and a tub of Betty Crocker frostingStep 2: In a large bowl, stir together your box mix, oil, eggs, and water (in whatever amounts the box directions require).

Step 3: Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan, being sure to scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Bake for as long as instructed on the box in the center of the oven.

Uncooked brownie mix in an aluminum foil lined baking pan next to a tub of Betty Crocker icing, a white bowl of candy eye balls, and a red circle cookie cutterStep 4: Allow your entire pan of brownies to cool to room temperature.

If you remove the aluminum foil from the pan and place your large brownie on a wire rack, it will cool faster.

Use your circle cookie cutter to cut out as many circle brownies as you can (approximately 8 or 9, or about 4 with a smaller square baking dish). Place each little brownie onto your flat workspace.

How To Store Leftover Spooky Halloween Mummy Brownies

Store any leftovers of this fun treat in an airtight container in the fridge for a week or on the counter for up to 3 days.

Can I Make Homemade Brownies Instead Of Boxed?

Yes! This delicious Halloween Mummy Brownies recipe will work with almost any type of brownies (provided they have a brown base).

For these easy mummies that are made for the Halloween season I used boxed brownie mix, but if you’d prefer to make your own homemade brownies, use my favorite brownie recipe from my Funfetti Brownie Blooms.

Follow the instructions for making the chocolate brownies only. After you’ve baked them, allow them to cool, and then come back here to continue the instructions for these fun Halloween treats.

Can I Use Chocolate Chips Or Candy Melts Instead Of Frosting?

Yes! The texture will be a little bit different, but if you melt white chocolate chips or white candy melts and put them into the plastic bag, you can pipe them onto these Mummy Halloween Brownies just as easily.

The melted chocolate will have a slightly grittier texture and the melts will be smoother. Neither will be quite as rich as the frosting, so keep that in mind when choosing.

Can I Cut These Easy Mummy Brownies As Rectangles?

Yes! This is an incredibly easy recipe to change up, so if you’d prefer for your homemade Halloween brownies to have flat edges, go for it – they’ll still be a huge hit!

Once your brownies have cooled, use a sharp knife to slice them into rectangles. This will not change the cooking time or any brownie prep, so cut these fun treats as you see fit.
