Easy Funfetti Brownies

These Easy Funfetti Brownie Flowers are a cute spring or summer treat! With fudgy brownies, colorful frosting, and fun sprinkles, they’re a great way to bring a little bit of sunshine into your day.

Whether you are looking for a brownie recipe for after dinner or a fun way to say happy birthday to someone who doesn’t enjoy cake, this is one of those brownie recipes that everyone will get a kick out of.

They can also be a fun specialty gift that you can give instead of fresh flowers! Create the floral design you think your loved one will enjoy, write a cute gift message, put them all in a gift box, and you have a next level treat for a special occasion.

Recipe Notes:

  • The number of brownie flowers that you get will depend on the size of the cookie cutter you use.
  • If you want to turn these into more of a vanilla brownie option, use white chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate. You will still have the chocolate flavor, but a white flower base.
  • If you want to make these into brownie floral arrangements, use a very small cookie cutter so that you have small brownie bites. Insert a popsicle stick or thick lollipop stick into each brownie pop and you’ll be set.

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line a 9 x 13-inch pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. If you’d prefer not to line the pan, spray it thoroughly with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, and water until boiling.

Stir in all of your chocolate chips until everything is melted and combined. You can use a wooden spoon, spatula, or even an electric mixer for this step if you find it easier.

Allow your chocolate to cool for a few minutes and then add your eggs and vanilla. Stir to combine well.

Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and you have chewy edges. Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Make sure you press down pretty hard and thoroughly on each edge to make sure the flower has separated from the rest of the fudgy chocolate brownie.

The easiest way to do this may be by sliding a spatula under the flower (with the cutter still in it or not) and then peeling the excess brownie around it. Dispose of the extra bits of brownie (by eating them) and then move on to the next flower.

Can I Use Boxed Brownie Mix For These Edible Flowers?

These from-scratch brownies are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend you try them the first time you try this fun treat, but you can use regular boxed brownies instead.

Make sure that you’re using regular brownie mix or funfetti brownie mix instead of boxed cake mix or you’ll end up with something you didn’t expect!

Can I Bake Extra Sprinkles Into The Funfetti Brownies?

Yes! This is an optional step that you can take. If you’d like to add sprinkles to the batter, stir in a handful just before you pour the batter into the glass pan for baking. The additional sprinkles will dissolve some, but you should still have a festive blend of brownie, color, and flavor.
