Stuffed Taco Crescent Rolls

As crescent roll recipes go, this is one of the easiest that you’ll find! Grab the taco stuff around your house, a tube of crescent rolls, and turn them into a delicious lunch, dinner, or snack!

Turn this meal into a family activity to keep the kids busy in the evening. Make sure that you prepare the meat, but after that, you can separate everything into small bowls and let them make their own rolls. Fun and constructive on a kid-friendly level and a great way to get them involved in the kitchen!

If you have leftover taco meat, this is the perfect dinner recipe to make the next evening. It’s always a bonus when you can turn one meat prep into two meals! Plus, taco night doesn’t have to mean taco-filled shells! Dress it up a little differently with stuffed rolls.

Whether you are preparing these for a family dinner, your next Taco Tuesday, or game day, this easy meal really is something anyone can make. Plus, they’re a fun twist on the traditional taco everyone is already used to.

Unlike a taco ring recipe, which can be a little complicated (you know, the crescent roll taco ring that people make for Super Bowl parties?), these stuffed taco crescent rolls have a few simple ingredients, will take you only minutes, and have an easy recipe that everyone will love.

Pair them with these Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana Treats for an easy dessert or some Macaroni Salad with Egg as a side!

How To Make:

Ingredients:
1 package of crescent rolls (8 count)
2 cups ground beef or ground turkey cooked and seasoned with a packet of taco seasoning
1 cup shredded Mexican taco cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup salsa

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. If you don’t have any available, spray the cookie sheet liberally with nonstick cooking spray instead.

If you are using leftover seasoned meat, you can skip this step.

I used Pillsbury crescent rolls, but these will work great with the store brand as well.

Step 6: Roll up your crescent rolls, making sure the entire filling stays inside.

Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes. They’re done when each of the buttery crescent rolls is a nice golden brown.

How To Store Leftover Stuffed Taco Crescent Rolls

Store any leftovers in an airtight container or Ziploc bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Can I Add Ingredients To These Delicious Taco Crescent Rolls?

Yes! Because each crescent dough triangle is fairly small, you don’t want to over-stuff, but there are some things you can add. Choose from your favorite taco toppings.

Add some black olives, enchilada sauce, green chilies, green onions, hot sauce, or taco sauce to the meat filling – they won’t take up much space.

You can also add a swipe of refried beans to the bottom of the triangle (under the beef mixture) or swap out the Mexican cheese for cheddar cheese pepper jack cheese. Have a little fun with it!

Can I Make This Recipe Vegetarian?

Yes! While you can use either ground turkey, ground chicken, or ground beef for the taco meat mixture, you don’t have to. To turn these crescent roll tacos into vegetarian taco rolls, either omit the meat completely or use seasoned veggie crumbles.

You want to serve a delicious recipe that the whole family can enjoy and you shouldn’t have to leave anyone out based on their dietary needs.

  1. Such a simple, delicious recipe. My extremely picky child said over and over, “this is so good!” I followed the recipe and didn’t have any issues with them sticking to the parchment paper.

  2. Hello Alli,

Nice simple delicious recipe — filling premade/homemade crescent dough is just an awesome trick, whether open rolled on a sheet pan, or used to line a muffin tin! Classic sandwiches, pizza, casseroles, etc all lend themselves well to this treatment …

One quick comment to “people” who are tempted to “yell” : if you’re using _baking_ parchment, and the baked product is sticking, you’ve got something else going on …

I’ve been baking for over 40 years (since apprenticing to an Austrian Master Baker for 3+ years) and I’ve _never_ had anything stick to parchment _unless_ I failed in some other aspect of preparation … there’s a reason parchment circles are used by professional cake makers, etc. to protect their delicate goods.

However, these days you can just use a silicon mat — even cooked (burnt) sugar won’t stick to those!

    Cheers all,
    k
