Recipe Notes:

  • Make sure that the size of the corn tortillas you buy are standard tostada size and will fit in the middle of a burrito size tortilla with room around it.
  • You will want to have all of your ingredients prepared around you on a flat surface before starting to put each of your homemade crunch wraps together.
  • Serve your Taco Bell Crunchwrap recipe with some hot sauce as well as some tortilla chips and warm nacho cheese sauce to complete the meal!

How To Store A Crunchwrap Supreme

Store any leftover homemade Crunchwrap Supremes in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

How Exactly Do I Fold This Handheld Wrap?

The key to folding in this homemade Crunchwrap Supreme recipe is the size of the outer tortilla. You need to start with large burrito size flour tortillas or even giant flour tortillas in a pinch.

Take one end of the tortilla and fold it towards the center so that the edge is now touching the middle of the shredded cheese. Now take the bit of extra tortilla sticking out on one side and fold it up to meet the edges of the large flour tortilla you just folded into the middle.

Continue folding each piece until the center of each tortilla is basically closed on top. You will have approximately six total folds.

Unfortunately, if your flour tortilla is too small, you can’t use extra tortillas to easily finish your copycat recipe. That said, you could use each crunchy tostada shell to turn it into an open-faced dish instead of Taco Bell’s Crunchwrap Supreme.

Can I Use Different Ingredients From What Taco Bell Uses?

Yes! This recipe calls the ingredients in Taco Bell’s Crunchwrap Supreme, but you can change it up as you see fit. Use black beans or pinto beans instead of refried beans, add some red sauce to the inside, add some chopped bell pepper or any of your favorite toppings. The important thing is that you love it!

Can I Make This With Another Ground Meat?

Yes! The original version does use cooked beef, but since this is a copycat Taco Bell recipe, you can use whatever meat you want.

Make your taco meat out of ground chicken or ground turkey instead of lean ground beef, or if you want to make it vegetarian opt for some vegan meat crumbles. Just because you’re vegetarian doesn’t mean that you don’t have Taco Bell cravings!
