Let’s be honest – when it comes to lunch and dinner recipes, what we have in our playbook starts to get stale. We buy the same ingredients because that is what we and our families enjoy, but using them creatively becomes a challenge. Which is where these Pepperoni Rolls came from!
These rolls require the same ingredients that you would make for grilled cheese. They aren’t unusual or hard to find, they’re just presented in a different way. Your family will think that you’re amazing while you know that you just added a little twist on a classic.
If you are a vegetarian or have a vegetarian in your family, you can remove the pepperoni from these rolls and just make straight up grilled cheese rolls. Do what works best for your family.
Pepperoni Rolls Recipe
Ingredients (for each sandwich):
2 pieces white bread
1 slice Kraft Singles
3 slices pepperoni
1/2 stick butter (total for all sandwiches up to four)
Take two pieces of white bread and carefully cut the crusts off. If you are making more than one sandwich, you’ll need two slices for each.
Using a rolling pin on top of a cutting board, roll your bread out flat.
Warm your bread in the microwave for 15 seconds and then place a slice of cheese on each piece.
Place three slices of pepperoni on top of each slice of cheese.
Place your butter in a microwave safe bowl, cover it with a piece of paper towel, and melt the butter in 15 second increments, stirring the butter between intervals.
Carefully roll up each piece of bread and coat the outside with butter.
Place each pepperoni roll up in a lightly greased frying pan. Rotate each roll to make sure that they cook evenly on each side.
Serve with a side of marinara sauce and enjoy!
