Red White And Blue American Flag Cake
How To Make:
1 box Little Debbie White Fancy Cakes
1 bag Wilton red candy melts
1 bag Wilton blue candy melts
White confetti sprinkles
Unwrap your white fancy cakes and place them on a piece of parchment paper.
In a medium bowl that is microwave safe, melt one cup of the red candy melts in the microwave on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Do the same for the blue candy melts in a separate bowl.
Carefully pour your melted candy melts into two separate large pastry bags, making sure to scrape the bottom of the bowl to get all of the colors in each bag. Cut a very small tip off the end of the bags.
Use your blue melted candy to draw a square onto the top left corner of the white layer of the top of the cake. Do this for each one.
Next, is your red layer. Draw red wavy lines with the other piping bag across the white frosting of the snack cake. You should be able to fit four or five on the entire cake.
Next, fill in the blue square with more blue melted chocolate from your piping bag.
Place a popsicle stick in the bottom left corner of each festive flag cake and they are ready to go!
Think about serving these on a cake plate next to some fresh berries and Cool Whip or whipped cream. Blueberries, strawberries or raspberries might be best, to go with the patriotic theme.
How Do I Store These American Flag Cakes?
These cakes are best stored at room temperature or slightly cooler. You can refrigerate them for a few days after preparation, but you may want to let them warm up a bit before serving. If they are too cool, the inside of the cakes will harden just a bit.
