Patriotic Cookies

There are several times of year where patriotic cookies are something that you’re going to want to have on-hand. Whether you’re making them for a Fourth of July celebration, Labor Day or Memorial Day, this recipe is easy and tasty!

The cookies have a light blue tint, but when you finish them off with red, white and blue sprinkles, you’ll be good to go for any of our popular patriotic holidays. If you don’t have enough sprinkles, use some red white and blue M&M’s. The best part is that they are super versatile as far as decoration.

What’s fun about these patriotic cake mix cookies is that you can choose different and fun sprinkles for individual cookies. Change it up! Let the kids decorate the cookies after you bake them or just alternate the sprinkles types. The ball sprinkles will be crunchier and the long sprinkles are generally softer.

Richer than your typical sugar cookie recipe and more celebratory than chocolate chip cookies or even a cookie cake, these patriotic cookies are a unique addition to your dessert table. Plus, if you are serving a large group, you can just double your batch of dough, grab some extra icing and you’ll be all set.

This blue dessert is a real crowd-pleaser and is the perfect dessert for your next patriotic party! They are the best cookies for independence day and they will become one of your favorite recipes to make for these holidays!

Store these in an airtight container or on a large plate covered in plastic wrap for up to a week.

Can I Make This Patriotic Dessert Different Colors?

This easy patriotic treat has some very basic ingredients which will allow you to change up the color combination. The blue color of the cookies come from the color of the blue raspberry gelatin, so if you change that color, you change the color of the cookies. If you would prefer red cookies, choose a red variety. If you want a green color for another holiday, choose that. These can become your favorite cookies for various celebrations!
