Pepperoni Pizza Pasta Bake
I know that when you need an easy dinner recipe, pasta is usually at the forefront of your mind. It is for me! And this Pepperoni Pasta Bake Casserole is both quick to put together and super tasty.
When we make the same pasta dishes over and over, they can get a little bit old. That said, if you’re like me and my family, you want to change things up, have it be delicious, but also not have it take a ton of effort. Particularly on school days!
Classic pepperoni pizza is one of those staples that many of us grew up with, so why not turn it into a pasta bake? This is one of those 30-minute recipes that is full of pizza flavor while being the ultimate comfort food. It’s tough to argue with.
This easy pizza pasta bake has only four ingredients, so it is something you can prepare for cooking at a moment’s notice.
Keep the ingredients in your cabinet and fridge and you can pull them out when you need an easy recipe that the entire family will love. Especially on a busy weeknight!
Recipe Notes:
- To make this great dish gluten-free, use gluten-free pasta in place of regular rotini noodles.
- To turn this pasta dish into a vegetarian dinner, replace the pepperoni with vegetarian pepperoni or go for some veggie crumbles instead.
- The spiral pasta holds the other ingredients well, but you can use your favorite pasta noodles instead.
- The small pieces of pepperoni may cling to each other in the large pot, so try to separate any large chunks inside the baking dish.
- Top this great recipe with parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes if desired.
How To Make Pepperoni Pasta Bake
Pepperoni Pasta Bake Ingredients:
1 box rotini noodles 16 oz
1 cup pepperoni, cut into quarters or halves
2 cups pasta sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded (additional cheese optional)
Italian seasoning (optional)
Supplies Needed:
Large pot
Kitchen spoon or wooden spoon
Large colander
Sharp knife
Nonstick spray
9×13-inch baking dish
Directions:
Step 1: In a large pot, cook your rotini pasta to al dente according to the package directions. Strain it in a colander and then return it to the pot.
Step 2: While the pasta cooks, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and take out a 9×13 baking dish or large casserole dish. Spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3: Chop up the pepperoni slices into halves or quarters and then add the pepperoni pieces to the pot with the cooked pasta.
Step 4: Add the pizza sauce and 2 cups of mozzarella cheese as well.
Step 5: Add a few shakes of Italian seasoning if desired. Stir well to combine everything.
Step 6: Pour your pasta mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle more mozzarella cheese on top if you want (I do!).
Step 7: Bake the cheesy casserole in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
Step 8: Remove your casserole from the oven, making sure that you’ve got gooey cheese and the edges are golden brown.
Serve your Pepperoni Pizza Pasta Casserole with garlic bread or a side salad to complete your meal and enjoy!
How To Store Leftover Pepperoni Pasta Bake
Store any leftover pepperoni pizza casserole in the baking dish under plastic wrap or aluminum foil or in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
What Kind Of Pepperoni Should I Use?
This Pepperoni Pasta Bake recipe is super versatile, so you can use your favorite. Whether it’s classic pepperoni, mini pepperoni, turkey pepperoni, plant-based pepperoni, or beef pepperoni, choose what you like.
What Kind Of Sauce Should I Use?
Because this delicious pizza pasta bake has so few ingredients, it is incredibly easy to tailor it to be a family favorite.
I typically use a tomato basil sauce or a marinara sauce because my son doesn’t care for meat sauce, but there are tons of options.
That said, you don’t have to use a straight tomato sauce. You can choose a vodka sauce, an alfredo sauce, or an olive oil and garlic sauce. Be a little careful with the olive oil sauce, as you may want to bake it for less time.
Can I Add Any Other Ingredients To This Pizza Casserole?
Yes! This is meant to be an extremely easy 4-ingredient dinner, but if you have some extra time, feel free to add some other items.
Diced green peppers, black olives, chopped onion, fresh basil, or any of your other favorite pizza toppings could be thrown in here.
There is already pepperoni, but you could add cooked Italian sausage, ground turkey, or ground beef if you’d like to bulk up the meat content. Add them to the pot and then spread it all in the casserole dish.

Now, this is a fabulous recipe. You have created not only an easy recipe with only 4 ingredients (mom win) but also a budget-friendly meal. I love that you have created this to be easy to change into not only gluten-free but also vegetarian. I love that it’s so kid-friendly. I am excited to include this recipe in my round-up. Thank you for this delicious recipe.
Thanks so much!
This recipe sounds so good! I have a question about the ingredients. Pasta sauce is listed in the ingredients but pizza sauce is in the instructions. Which would be the best to use for this recipe?
You can use either! I often change the flavor of what I use (tomato basil is my family’s favorite), but I do tend to use a jar of pasta sauce. That said, it’s really up to what you enjoy the most.
