Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip
Chocolate chip cookie dough is one of the ultimate comfort foods for those of us with a raging sweet tooth. Since many of us were kids, we’ve snuck a spoonful while we were baking right? That’s where this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip comes in. It is cookie dough that you can whip up and snack on whenever you want!
This deliciously sweet dip has all the flavor of chocolate chip cookies and is great with apple slices, pretzels, graham crackers, vanilla wafers or straight out of a spoon. Plus, it is egg-free, so you don’t have to have the same concerns that you would about regular cookie dough.
This dip recipe is naturally vegetarian, but you can make it vegan by using semi-sweet chocolate chips (make sure that your brand is dairy free!) and vegan butter. Easy peasy!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Recipe
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup flour
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
Take out a stand mixer or a large bowl and hand mixer. In the bowl of your mixer, cream together the butter, vanilla, salt, and sugar until they are well mixed and fluffy.
Gradually add the flour a little at a time until it is completely blended. If you like, you can microwave the flour for about 20 seconds, stir, and microwave for another 20 seconds first. This helps to cut the raw flour flavor.
Stir in your mini chocolate chips with a spatula to combine well. You don’t want to cut the chips, so it’s best not to do this step with your mixer. If you’d like, you can also add nuts or dried cranberries at this point as well.
Transfer the contents to a bowl and store in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve with apples, pretzels or animal crackers!
