Reindeer Chocolate Bark
If you are looking for something festive that reminds you of Christmas reindeer, you have to try my easy No-Bake Reindeer Bark! An incredibly simple dessert that anyone can make, this is perfect for your Christmas celebration!
I am not someone who knows much about actual reindeer recipes, so I would never pretend that I was, but a chocolate reindeer I can do. Add a few reindeer candy eyes, reindeer antlers, and a nose and you’ve got a tasty (and adorable!) Christmas dessert.
This is a cute idea that you may think of as a dessert for kids, but it’s actually a fun treat for kids of all ages. A salty and sweet treat made with simple ingredients, it has one of the best flavor combinations.
This great recipe is an incredibly quick dessert to make, with most of the time being spent waiting for the chocolate to harden. Put the kids to work making this one or think about spending time together creating this Christmas craft!
During the holiday season, we often think of Christmas cookies as the best edible gift, but this reindeer chocolate bark recipe is a great option! A perfect treat to stash in a candy tin or cellophane bags for your Christmas party or as a Secret Santa gift and someone will love it.
Recipe Notes:
- If you would prefer not to use the microwave to melt your chocolate, you can use the double boiler method.
- Make sure to put the little reindeer faces and antlers together before the chocolate hardens.
- This fun holiday treat is vegetarian and – provided you pick up gluten-free pretzels – gluten-free as well.
How To Make Easy No-Bake Chocolate Reindeer Bark
Chocolate Reindeer Bark Ingredients:
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips 12 oz
1/8 cup red and brown M&M’s
1 cup small pretzel twists
White shimmer sugar
Red and white candy cane sprinkles
Small candy eyeballs
Supplies Needed:
Large cookie sheet
Parchment paper or wax paper
Large microwave-safe bowl
Kitchen spoon or rubber spatula
Directions:
Step 1: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, heat your chocolate chips in the microwave for 3-4 minutes on 50% power, stirring in 30-second intervals until melted.
Step 3: Pour your melted chocolate from the large bowl into the center of your parchment paper and spread it out evenly.
Step 4: Break your pretzels in half (doing your best to make them equal lengths) and place the pretzel pieces next to each other in pairs on top of the chocolate. These will be the reindeer’s antlers.
Step 5: While your chocolate is still melted and soft, start placing your candy eyeballs under the pretzel antlers, next to each other in pairs.
Step 6: Add your M&M’s under your reindeer eyes to make the reindeer noses (as in the photos). I used both brown and red M&M’s, but if you want each one to have a red nose, give them all red candy noses.
Step 7: Top your chocolate off with some sparkling sugar sprinkles and candy cane sprinkles. Sprinkle them all over so that every piece you end up separating has some.
Step 8: Place your cookie sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes until your chocolate has hardened.
Step 9: Once your chocolate has hardened you can begin breaking it into reindeer pieces. Gently break between each of the reindeer designs, making sure each is a full reindeer shape with a full set of antlers. Serve and enjoy!
How To Store Leftover Reindeer Bark
Store any leftover reindeer pretzel treats in the refrigerator in a resealable plastic bag or an airtight container for up to a week.
Can I Use Milk Chocolate Chips Instead Of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips?
Yes! I enjoy this sweet treat with semi-sweet chocolate chips, but choose your favorite! If you prefer milk chocolate reindeer or dark chocolate reindeer for your recipe, that would be just as amazing.
Can I Use Different Sprinkles Than Those Listed?
Yes! If you can’t find the sprinkles and peppermint candy canes that I use in your local grocery store baking aisle or online, make your little reindeer with whatever you have handy.
Break up some mini candy canes or use other festive sprinkles. Cooking should be fun, not stressful!
