Chocolate Covered Oreos

If you want an easy dessert that looks professionally made and tastes amazing, you have to try my no-bake Cookies and Cream Covered Oreos recipe! It will take you less than 30 minutes to create and everyone will be impressed!

Perfect for a special occasion or holiday party, this is one of the simple and fun ways to dress up your regular Oreo cookies. Yummy cookies just as they are (a household favorite here!), with very minimal effort and not a lot of time, you can turn them into a whole other thing!

This easy recipe calls for milk chocolate chips, but you can opt for dark chocolate if that’s your preference. All of the ingredients for this fun treat are easily found at your grocery store, so this is one of the dessert recipes that you can pull out of your cabinets to make at any time.

Super delicious, these will easily become one of your favorite treats in no time!

Recipe Notes:

  • The bottom of the cookies will not get chocolate drizzle as they will be laying flat on the parchment paper. That is normal.
  • You can microwave or double-boil the chocolate chips and almond bark, it is your choice.

How To Make Cookies And Cream Covered Oreos

Cookies And Cream Covered Oreos Ingredients:

31 Oreo cookies
1 package white almond bark
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Supplies Needed:

Baking tray
Parchment paper or wax paper
Large resealable bag
Medium microwave-safe bowl
Kitchen spoon
Chocolate melt dipping tool or kitchen fork
Small microwave-safe bowl

Piping bag or medium resealable bag
Potato masher or rolling pin (optional)

Directions:

Step 1: Lay out a piece of parchment paper or wax paper on your counter or a cookie sheet.

Step 2: Open your package of Oreos and scrape the white filling out of about 6 chocolate sandwich cookies. Dispose of the cream (or eat it!) and place the 12 chocolate cookie discs into a large Ziploc bag.

Seal the bag and crush the Oreos with a potato masher, rolling pin, or your hands. You want these to be crushed into fine crumbs without too many larger pieces.

This typically involves removing the wrapper, microwaving on high for 1 minute, stirring, and then microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring every 15 seconds until melted.

Step 4: Pour your crushed Oreo cookies into the melted bark and stir to combine well.

Using a spoon, cover the cookies with melted almond bark. Sift them out with a chocolate melt dipping spoon or a fork and shake off any excess chocolate.

Step 6: Place your dipped Oreos in a single layer onto the parchment paper. You should have enough melted bark to do this for approximately 25 cookies if you scrape the sides of the bowl.

Step 7: Let your dipped cookies sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes or until the almond bark has hardened. (Hardening can be accelerated if you place the cookies on a baking sheet in the fridge.)

If you are uncomfortable using a microwave or don’t have access to one, you can melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler.

Drizzle your melted chocolate over each Oreo and let them set until hardened. Enjoy!

Can I Use Anything Other Than Almond Bark For These Chocolate Covered Cookies?

Yes! I like the way that the almond bark mixes with the crushed Oreo sandwich cookies, but you can use white chocolate chips or white chocolate candy melts.

The white candy melts will have more of a smooth finish than the chocolate chips, but they will both leave you with a delicious version of white chocolate Oreos.

Can I Make These Different Colors For Different Occasions?

Yes! This is one of my favorite things about this sweet treat.

Using red candy melts or red food coloring, you can have cute red Valentine’s Day dipped Oreos or green for St. Patrick’s Day. You could even make them red and use green holiday sprinkles for Christmas. They’re the perfect holiday treat because they are super versatile!

Can I Turn These Chocolate-Covered Oreos Into Oreo Pops?

Yes! Before you dip the Oreo cookies into the candy coating, insert lollipop sticks into the cream of each cookie.

While holding the lollipop stick, use a spoon to coat each of the cookies with cookies and cream almond bark. Place them down onto parchment paper and continue the recipe from there for best results.
