Made in a cast iron skillet, this easy chocolate chip and Oreo cookie is a chocolate lover’s dream. It is crunchy on the edges of the skillet with a soft and gooey center.

Plus, this doesn’t take a lot of time and you make this easy recipe in one bowl, so there’s no special equipment needed other than your cast iron skillet.

Recipe Notes:

  • This cookie recipe works better with regular Oreos rather than flavored Oreos. 
  • If you are unable to crush the Oreos with your hands, use a rolling pin or a potato masher after they have been sealed in the resealable bag. 
  • This chocolate chip skillet cookie is great warm, at room temperature, or with chocolate syrup, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a tall glass of milk.

How To Make Cast Iron Chocolate Chip Cookie With Oreos

Oreo Skillet Cookie Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pinch kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup Oreo pieces
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Supplies Needed:

9-inch cast iron pan
Large Ziploc bag
Paper towels
Large bowl
Electric mixer
Rubber spatula
Wooden spoon

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Put your Oreo cookies into a resealable bag and crush them with your hands. You will end up with some large Oreo cookie pieces and some smaller ones, but that’s fine. 

Step 2: Grease your 9-inch skillet by rubbing a little bit of vegetable oil into the pan with a piece of paper towel.

Step 4: Add in your egg and vanilla and mix well.

Press the cookie batter down with your fingers.

You can add extra chocolate chips or Oreo chunks to the top of the cookie if you’d like. 

Step 8: Bake the whole thing for 25 minutes until it is golden brown with a chewy center and crispy edges.

Be sure to use oven mitts or a silicone handle holder when removing the hot skillet.

  • 1 cup crushed Oreos
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
