Recipe Notes:
- Slicing your cream cheese into cubes will help it to melt faster.
- If you aren’t a big fan of Buffalo sauce, you may want to start with 4 tablespoons and add more to your personal preference.
- Drain the liquid from your canned chicken before adding it to the mixture.
- You can also add bacon bits to this easy dip recipe while it is still cooking in the pot.
How To Make Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe
Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients:
1 cream cheese block 8 oz
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cans chicken, drained (or one large can, approximately 12.5 oz)
6-7 tablespoons Buffalo sauce
Supplies Needed:
Large saucepan
Wooden spoon
Large whisk
Directions:
Step 1: In a large pot over medium-low heat, combine cream cheese and ranch dressing. I usually find it easiest to dice up my cream cheese so that it heats faster.
Step 2: Once melted, add your buffalo wing sauce in and stir to combine.
Step 3: Add your shredded cheddar cheese and stir until it’s nice and stringy when you lift the whisk or spoon.
Step 4: Drain the chicken while it is still in the can. Break up each of the cans of chicken with a spoon. Add the now-drained chicken pieces to the mixture.
Step 5: Stir everything together until the cheese is completely melted and all of the ingredients are combined.
Step 6: Taste your delicious dip to see if it is spicy enough for you. If you want some additional kick, add a little more spicy buffalo sauce. There is a reason that buffalo wings come in various levels of spice!
Step 7: Once your dip has cooked through, pour it into a serving bowl. Top with some green onions or parsley, and a little bit of remaining shredded cheese or blue cheese crumbles.

How To Store Leftover Buffalo Chicken Dip With Canned Chicken
Store any leftover dip in a large bowl in the refrigerator under plastic wrap or in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Do I Have To Use Canned Chicken For This Creamy Dip?
No! This recipe calls for white meat canned chicken because it works well and keeps your total time for prep down, but you can use other options.
If you’d prefer to use fresh chicken or have cooked chicken breasts, leftover rotisserie chicken, or shredded chicken in the fridge, this is a good choice for using up leftover chicken.
Just make sure that the chicken you are adding to this yummy dip is cooked all the way through before adding it to the mixture.

This recipe looks awesome!!! Since I don’t use grain flour, do you think almond or coconut flour would work well as a substitute? Thanks!
There is no grain flour in this recipe as far as I know, so you should be good. 🙂
I tried this sauce on turkey meatballs last night and served them to my very picky children and their even pickier cousins. What a HUGE hit! I cannot thank you enough – you’ve added a new staple to their diets …
I’m so glad!
What a delicious quick and easy dish. I am always looking for new ways with chicken.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Very tasty looking! I do love cilantro, but I have heard that some people have an aversion to it. Love your photo.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!
