Easy Raspberry Trifle Recipe
How To Make:
Ingredients:
2 cups pretzels, crushed
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups melted butter
4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 cup fresh raspberries
16 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
16 oz Cool Whip
Directions:
Wash your fresh raspberries and strawberries with cold water. Take out a cutting board and slice your whole strawberries into halves or quarters. Set all of the fresh berries aside together in a separate bowl.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place your two cups of whole pretzels in a Ziploc bag and crush them with your hands or a potato masher.
In a large mixing bowl, combine your melted butter, crushed pretzels, brown sugar, and chopped pecans and mix thoroughly.
Pour the mixture onto your baking sheet and bake for about 8 minutes. Once it is finished, let it cool and then break the brittle apart into pieces.
In another large bowl (or wash out the one you just used), beat together your whipped topping, softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract with a handheld mixer.
Mix in your sugared pretzels and stir the combination thoroughly.
In a large trifle dish, place a single layer of about 1 1/2 cups of your raspberry and strawberry mixture to the bottom of a large trifle dish.
Next, spread half your cream cheese mixture on top of that bottom layer. It will be easiest to do this with a rubber spatula.
Add another even layer of strawberries and raspberries on top of your cheesecake layer.
Add another cream cheese layer on top of the fresh fruit layer. Use up the rest of your cream mixture here.
Finish up by adding your last layer of strawberry slices and raspberries on the top of the trifle.
Serve with a little whipped cream on the top of each portion or all by itself. Enjoy!
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator in the trifle bowl under plastic wrap for up to 3 days.
Can I Make This Strawberry Trifle Recipe Without A Trifle Dessert Bowl?
Yes! If you don’t have a glass trifle bowl, you can replace it with a large glass bowl. When you make a dish like this, you want to see all the beautiful layers of a trifle through the sides, so stick with glass or Pyrex.
If you only have a medium bowl, add a few extra layers to use up all the ingredients of this fun dessert. The size of the bowl doesn’t really matter as long as you can see the layers.
Can I Turn This Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle Into Edible Gifts Or Individual Portions?
Yes! This delicious dessert shouldn’t just be reserved for a large party. Pick up some mason jars in the size of your choice. Add some lemon juice to the fresh strawberries and raspberries to help them stay fresh a little longer and then follow the easy dessert recipe per the instructions.
Each cheesecake layer and fruit layer will need to be much smaller, but this are the perfect layered dessert to give as a gift. Keep it refrigerated until you see your loved one and it will be fine at room temperature for a while until they can refrigerate it again.
